Guardian reviews Nic Jones tribute at Sidmouth FolkWeek
The highlight for many at this year’s Sidmouth FolkWeek was the Nic Jones tribute on Thursday 5th August. A line up of young folk stars - including Sam Carter - played material recorded by Nic Jones who hasn’t performed live for 28 years after a serious car crash ended his career…until he took to the stage last week at the end of the tribute concert to perform three of his songs. The Guardian review of the show ran on Tuesday (10/8) but can still be viewed here including the quote ‘Some wilted under the pressure…but Sam Carter and Ruth Notman flourished respectively with Barrack Street and Billy Don’t You Weep For Me.’
